True to form, President Jair Bolsonaro broke social isolation rules again one day after Brazil reached the 6,000-death mark. Brazil is now the country with the seventh most victims in the world. During an unscheduled trip to the city of Cristalina, Goiás — located on the outskirts of the capital Brasilia — the president breakfasted with supporters, shaking hands and hugging several of them. “Let’s take care, wear masks,” Mr. Bolsonaro allegedly said, who despite wearing a mask himself removed it many times during the course of his breakfast. “The virus is here to stay, there is no way out,” he added.

As Brazil’s deaths continue to rise, Mr. Bolsonaro remains dismissive in regards to the pandemic. “So what? What do you want me to do?” The president said when asked about the rising number of victims in the country.
