A fitness app aimed at people with disabilities

Accessercise, an app co-created by Lebanon-born, British Paralympic powerlifter Ali Jawad and his former agent and fellow British athlete Sam Brearey, is landing in Brazil. 

State of play. The app is set to roll out in the second half of 2024, offering more than 400 video lessons for people with disabilities. 

  • The app’s beta version is already live in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and later this year it will also be launched in Ukraine. Mr. Brearey had spent five years in the country, co-founding the app there and only leaving after the Russian invasion. However, part of the development team remains on Ukrainian soil. 
  • Mr. Jawad didn’t disclose how many users the app has in the United Kingdom.

Backdrop. “While growing up, I didn’t see several people like me in the gym, and I wondered what made me special. Fast forward to the first phase of the lockdown of the Covid pandemic,” Mr. Jawad tells The Brazilian Report
