President Jair Bolsonaro will today host foreign ambassadors with the aim of sowing distrust in the integrity of elections in his own country. During the meeting, he will repeat false claims about previous elections being rigged, an allegation for which he himself admitted to having no evidence.
Paulo Roberto de Almeida, a retired career ambassador who served as a counselor at the Brazilian Embassy in Washington between 1999 and 2003, spoke to The Brazilian Report about the meeting and its effects on Brazilian diplomacy.
