Rio security intervention: How did Congressmen vote?

On February 16, President Michel Temer signed a decree declaring a security intervention in Rio de Janeiro. For the measure to be effective until the end of the year, however, it needs to be approved by Congress.

The House had scheduled the vote on the federal intervention in Rio de Janeiro for 7 p.m. yesterday. The opposition, however, tried to filibuster the vote, and the bill’s rapporteur in the House, Congresswoman Laura Carneiro, only managed to present her report after 11 p.m. In the end, the House approved the measure, which will be effective until December 31, by a margin of 340-72.

Senators are expected to vote on the issue today.

Here’s how each congressman voted.
