Brazilian labor market finally shows signs of improvement

Devastated by the pandemic, effective income is finally starting to creep upwards, with the hardest-hit categories – informal and self-employed workers – now starting to earn again

Q2 2020 was the Brazilian labor market’s worst period of the Covid-19 pandemic, with job losses and falls in income across practically all sectors, genders, age groups, and educational levels – albeit to different degrees.

Now, 18 months after the health and economic crisis hit the country, the job market may have started to take baby steps towards growth.
