Ties with Russia, China revive Cuban Cold War memories
More than three decades have passed since the end of the Cold War, but the East and the West seem to be growing apart once again. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine rekindled us-versus-them sentiments, with the European Union urging Moscow allies such as Cuba to drop their long-standing ties with the eastern giant.
- Now, tension is also growing with regards to China, following reports of a “suspected” Beijing spy base on the island.
