President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has said he’s “very optimistic” about concluding the EU-Mercosur free trade agreement by the end of the year. What do you think?
We also remain optimistic. We are coming out of a very important week with the EU-CELAC summit, a demonstration from both regions of the will to reinforce the relationship. Lula’s participation in the summit was excellent news for us, and 50 heads of state or government of the 60 countries were present. The EU is the top investor in the region, and Brazil is our strategic partner.
