Belém picked as Brazil’s COP candidate city
Governor Helder Barbalho of Pará confirmed on Wednesday that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has selected Belém, the capital city of this Amazonian state, to be Brazil’s candidate city to host the UN Climate Conference in 2025 (COP30). Lula last year promised to try bringing the climate summit to the Amazon.
