Brazil’s coronavirus death count has reached 27,878, passing Spain as the country with the fifth-highest number of casualties worldwide. Today was the fourth-straight day with a four-digit figure for new deaths over 24 hours.

Brazil passed Spain just 73 days after its first Covid-19 casualty, ten days before Spain. On Monday, the Spanish government revised its death count, removing 2,000 cases that were duplicates.
