Bonus Episode: Brazil’s shot at World Cup glory

We speak with Ivi Casagrande, head of performance at Brazil's national women's football team, in an exclusive interview straight from Australia, where she discusses Brazil's World Cup chances, Marta's last dance, and the history of the women's game in Brazil

The 2023 Women’s World Cup is well underway in Australia and New Zealand, and Brazil is already two games into its Group F campaign. A 4-0 thumping of Panama on Monday was followed by a disappointing defeat to France this morning, meaning the final group match against Jamaica will be crucial for the country’s qualifying hopes.

And, as a special treat for our listeners, today we’re releasing a bonus episode of Explaining Brazil, as our intern Darley Boit caught up with the Brazilian national team’s head of performance Ivi Casagrande, straight from Brazil’s training camp on the Gold Coast.
