Accusing the men in fatigues
Notorious hacker Walter Delgatti, who rose to nationwide fame with for the Car Wash leaks and was later hired by far-right Congresswoman Carla Zambelli (as The Brazilian Report revealed in February), made a bombastic appearance on Thursday before the select congressional committee on the January 8 riots, very explicitly accusing former President Jair Bolsonaro and several military officers of an attempted attack on Brazil’s electoral system.
Why it matters. Mr. Delgatti’s testimony is further evidence that Mr. Bolsonaro himself had long planned various means of disrupting the electoral system, including hiring a hacker to infiltrate a voting machine, which proved impossible.
