Brazilian coffee fields become more productive
More than 75 years since Frank Sinatra crooned about the Brazilian coffee trade, there is still an awful lot of coffee in Brazil. Revenue from Brazilian coffee fields went up by an estimated 77 percent over the past decade, according to a report by the São Paulo Federation of Industries (Fiesp). The results came despite a challenging past couple of years, when frosts ravaged coffee fields.
Yes, but … Due to climate conditions, the number of 60kg coffee bags per hectare has gone down by 8.6 percent in 2022, the report estimates. And overall production dropped 9 percent.
