The Foreign Affairs Ministry announced on Monday it has no plans for additional flights to Israel in a repatriation mission, after bringing back a total of 1,413 people to Brazil.

Brazilian military aircraft were employed in a total of eight flights to Israel since the most recent Hamas attack. The first flight, with 211 Brazilian citizens, landed in Brasília in the early hours of October 11.

In a statement, the ministry said it maintains the guidance for Brazilians “who have airline tickets or are able to acquire them, to board commercial flights from Ben-Gurion Airport, which remains operational.”

The seventh flight in the repatriation mission, which departed Tel Aviv last Friday, had 69 passengers, including three Bolivian citizens. The ministry did not report citizens of other countries during the mission.

Separately, a group of around 30 Brazilians and their immediate family is still awaiting evacuation from the Gaza Strip. They remain sheltered in the cities of Khan Younis and Rafah, close to the border with Egypt.

According to the statement, vehicles hired by the Brazilian government “remain on standby, awaiting authorization for the group to transit” through the Rafah terminal, currently open exclusively for the entry of humanitarian assistance.
