UPDATE: With over 20,000 infections in 24 hours, Brazil surpasses Russia in total cases

According to the latest coronavirus update published by the Health Ministry this evening, Brazil has surpassed Russia in total Covid-19 cases and is now the country with the second-highest number of infections in the world — behind only the U.S. This Friday, Brazil recorded 20,803 new cases, taking its overall total to 330,890. Another 1,001 deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, taking the death count up to 21,048.
