On Wednesday Supreme Court Chief Justice Dias Toffoli signed a resolution authorizing all court activities to be conducted remotely from June 1 to January 31, 2021. The remote model was first implemented in 2016 — as a pilot program aiming at improving workers’ quality of life as well as increasing their productivity. In 2018, the program was integrated into the court’s protocols.
As of writing, around 80 percent of Supreme Court employees — 180 people — are already working remotely. The decision extends to interns and outsourced workers.
This week, The Brazilian Report showed that thousands of government employees are already working remotely.
