The military will go “until the end” on the elections

Brazil’s Defense Minister Paulo Sérgio Nogueira told a Senate committee on Thursday that the Armed Forces will “go until the end” on what he called a “mission” to improve the transparency and safety of the coming election.

“In the Armed Forces, when we receive a mission, we give our total dedication. And in fulfilling the mission, which is to deliver conditions to the Superior Electoral Court to improve transparency, security, and auditing, we’ll go until the end, and that’s what has been done,” Mr. Nogueira, a recently retired general, told lawmakers.
