President Jair Bolsonaro published a photo of him walking in a São Paulo hospital on Friday, saying he will soon be discharged by doctors. The head of state was hospitalized on Wednesday to treat a bowel obstruction.
Medical staff said his condition is improving in a “satisfactory” manner, but have not yet ruled out surgery nor given the president a date for release. Mr. Bolsonaro returned to eating liquid food this morning after the removal of a nasogastric tube.
Since being stabbed in the abdomen during a campaign rally in 2018, Mr. Bolsonaro has experienced multiple intestinal problems and has undergone six surgical procedures.
