Tech roundup: The downside of increased school connectivity

More schools connected, but more report online addiction and abuse

More Brazilian schools have gained access to the internet since the pandemic, according to the Regional Center for Studies for the Development of the Information Society (Cetic.br). In 2022, 99 percent of urban schools and 85 percent in rural areas were connected, up by 1 and 33 percentage points, respectively, from 2021. However, with increased access comes new demands, some of which schools may not be prepared to meet.
