How can you put a monetary value on the four years of a presidential term? With all its highs and lows, achievements and defeats, laughter, and tears? Well, the son of Brazil’s former far-right President Jair Bolsonaro has priced it at just under USD 12, with a few dollars shipping.
On Monday, Mr. Bolsonaro’s third-eldest son and federal lawmaker Eduardo Bolsonaro announced the launch of Bolsonaro Store, an online shop themed around the former president. The flagship item? A Jair Bolsonaro 2023 wall calendar, still on presale despite it already being March.
Filled with what Eduardo describes as “exclusive and quality” images, the calendar is selling for a special early-bird price of BRL 59.90 (USD 11.50), while a desk-top version is also available for BRL 49.90. Its final page reportedly consists of a signed poster of the defeated former president.
Instead of traditional red letter days, the Bolsonaro calendar is annotated with “feats” of the previous government. For January 26, for instance, it mentions Mr. Bolsonaro’s flight over Brumadinho in 2019, one day after the dam collapse that left 270 people dead. It also notes that, on the same day in 2020, Mr. Bolsonaro was the “only guest of honor” of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the country’s annual independence celebrations.
Lanço agora o calendário da Bolsonaro Store: aberta a pré venda com desconto por tempo limitado e brinde para os primeiros que adquirirem.
