Yet another poll shows growing voter dissatisfaction with Bolsonaro

Amid corruption allegations involving the purchase of Covid-19 vaccines, rejection of the Jair Bolsonaro administration has reached a new peak. According to the latest Ipespe poll, commissioned by major brokerage firm XP, 52 percent of Brazilians rate the government’s performance as ‘bad’ or ‘terrible.’

Meanwhile, 63 percent of citizens disapprove of the president himself, with support for impeachment jumping from 46 to 49 percent between February and July. The results are consistent with recent findings from other pollsters.

Not even Brazil’s recent improvement in vaccination has been enough to stop the government from hemorrhaging support. Data suggests that recent developments in the Senate’s Covid hearings committee have further dented the president’s popularity.
