Marielle Franco killed by state agents, says newspaper

Rio de Janeiro Police Department has evidence that the killers of City Councilor Marielle Franco and her driver, Anderson Gomes, are part of the state’s security cabinet. The information has been published by local newspaper O Dia. Citing sources from the state administration, reporter Rafael Nascimento informs that the assassinations were carried out by a notorious death squad called “The Office of Crime,” a group led by a former chief of the Rio special forces and made up of military policemen and ex-policemen.
