The Brazilian government imposed restrictions on travelers who have been in the United Kingdom or South Africa in the 14 days prior to their arrival.
Brazilians or foreign residents who have visited these countries must present a negative RT-PCR test performed no longer than 72 hours before arriving and will then have to quarantine for 14 days.
The decision came on the same day the U.S. reported its first documented case of an infection by a coronavirus variant first identified in Brazil. The patient is a Minnesota-resident who has been to Brazil recently.
