Bolsonaro has second positive coronavirus test

Over one week since announcing he had tested positive for coronavirus, Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro took a subsequent Covid-19 test which has shown he is still carrying the virus, says CNN Brasil.

On July 5, Mr. Bolsonaro reported that he had developed a high fever and Covid-19 symptoms. He promptly took a coronavirus test the following day, which came back positive. Since then, he has been isolating at home, staying out of the spotlight, and conducting all of his presidential business via teleconference.

He claims his condition has improved and he is not suffering from any Covid-19 symptoms. Mr. Bolsonaro credits this progress down to taking antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine, which he has tipped as a potential cure for the disease, despite a lack of scientific conclusions to that end.
