UPDATE: Brazil tops 240,000 confirmed Covid-19 cases

One day after becoming the fourth country with the most Covid-19 cases, Brazil has now 241,080 confirmed cases and 16,118 deaths. The latest release by the Health Ministry informed 7,938 new cases and 485 new victims. This number is nearly half of that recorded on Saturday, when 816 new cases were informed — confirming the underreporting trend of weekends.

With that, the total number of cases in Brazil is now larger than the population of nearly 5,460 Brazilian cities — that is, 98 percent of them.
