More Covid-19 deaths were confirmed in Brazil today than in any other country around the world, besides the U.S., with the Health Ministry announcing a record 881 victims of the disease. The climbing death toll in the country appears to corroborate suspicions that Brazil may be the world’s next coronavirus epicenter.
In today’s case, the jump in deaths came far higher than Monday’s figure of 396, which can be explained by the backlog in reports over the weekend. Meanwhile, the number of new cases stood at 9,258, below last week’s situation of over 10,000 new infections every day.
