Bolsonaro ally says quarantine is “fiction”

During an online debate held by news website UOL, Congressman Osmar Terra referred to quarantine measures deployed against Covid-19 as “fiction,” adding that isolation was only for “the middle class with food in the fridge and money in the bank.”

Mr. Terra previously had a place in Jair Bolsonaro’s cabinet, serving as Citizenship Minister until last month. As a trained doctor, there are suggestions Mr. Terra could be made the next Health Minister once the president sacks Luiz Henrique Mandetta, with whom he has been warring for weeks.
