Watch how Covid-19 spread throughout Brazil

In a little over a month, Covid-19 has spread across all 27 of Brazil’s states. But while the lion’s share of cases and deaths have been found in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, some states are being harder hit proportionally than others. This is the case of the Federal District, which, despite only having 312 of the country’s 4,256 cases, has a whopping 96.102 infections per million inhabitants.

We have prepared this dynamic chart to illustrate how this proportion has developed in Brazil. From it, we can see that Covid-19 cases in the Federal District have ballooned in the last week, while the situation is also worrying in northern states Acre, Roraima, and Amazonas — as well as in Northeastern state Ceará.
