Brazil restrains international passenger traffic on roads

The National Agency of Land Transport (ANTT) has suspended international passenger traffic across Brazil’s borders, a decision valid for the next 60 days. According to the agency, passengers who have already purchased tickets may delay their trips or ask for reimbursement.

So far, interstate traveling is maintained without restrictions, but ANTT is asking both companies and passengers to adopt preventive measures. Brazilians are also advised to avoid traveling if they feel sick.

Local administrations are taking their own measures to restrict transport. Seven cities in the Greater São Paulo industrial area known as ABCD have decided to suspend public transportation from March 28 on.
