Servers of Brazil’s federal health regulatory agency Anvisa have been unstable since Thursday. As a consequence, the agency has temporarily lifted its requirement for international travelers to present a health declaration upon arrival in Brazil.
The demand for the form is expected to be re-enforced from Sunday onward. Other requirements are still in place, such as the need to present a negative RT-PCR test conducted up to 72 hours prior to boarding.
Although Anvisa hasn’t explained why its systems are unstable, there are concerns about a possible cyberattack — a problem that has plagued Brazilian government agencies as of late. In December, Health Ministry systems were down for several days following a hack.
