Health concerns raised as Bolsonaro visits medical clinic

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro reportedly spent 40 minutes on Friday morning at the president’s office’s health clinic, raising questions about his physical wellbeing. His press office has not officially commented on the issue, and aides were anonymously quoted saying the president is undergoing tests to monitor his health — adding that they were not allowed in the loop.

This has been Mr. Bolsonaro’s third visit to the health clinic in the last two weeks, according to reports.

Back in July, the president was briefly hospitalized with a bowel obstruction. The condition was associated with lingering problems from when Mr. Bolsonaro was stabbed in the abdomen on the campaign trail in 2018. The attack severely injured his intestines and forced him to undergo four surgeries.
