During a preliminary hearing in the Supreme Court, Brazil’s Health Ministry guaranteed that it will ensure “full vaccination to the state of Bahia and other states,” after Bahia officials complained to the high court that it was owed roughly 1 million Covid-19 vaccines from the federal government.
Bahia state prosecutors are also seeking answers regarding health regulator Anvisa’s decision to withhold a batch of CoronaVac immunizers destined for the state. State authorities claim that the batch in question has not been replaced.
Over 73 percent of the Brazilian population has received at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine, while 49.7 percent are fully immunized.
