Brazilian data protection watchdog seeks IT professionals

Days after Brazil’s National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) received the power to issue fines related to the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), the agency announced it is looking for IT and management employees to set up a department with 10 specializations. The selection process will run until August 31.

The data protection watchdog is seeking public servants to work in the areas of information security, data science and artificial intelligence, software and data architecture, economics, normative activity, preparation of studies — for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and UNESCO — procedural and administrative management, ombudsmanship, and monitoring and supervision of the use of personal data.

The ANPD will prioritize workers who are already employed by other government agencies so as not to generate any additional financial impact. Professionals linked to government-controlled companies which rely on funding from the Treasury may also apply.
