Governor Rui Costa of Bahia, talks about Brazil’s imminent state collapse

Facing a complete health catastrophe as coronavirus cases continue to rise, many state governors across Brazil are reintroducing the strictest measures available to them, as a last-ditch attempt to keep the country ticking over. In an exclusive interview with The Brazilian Report, Rui Costa, the governor of northeastern state Bahia, made an appeal to his state and the country as a whole, saying that the health system is at its limit and “we must ensure that everyone has the dignity to be treated at all units of Brazil’s public health system.”
