For Brazilians, computers belong in the past. For the first time ever, smartphones have become the preferred device to access the internet in Latin America’s biggest country. Almost half of all internet users (49 percent, to be exact) only access the web on their phones, according to a recent survey by the Regional Center for Studies to the Development of the Information Society (CETIC.br).
