President Jair Bolsonaro’s press office informed on Thursday that First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro has contracted the coronavirus. In a statement, the government said she “is in a good state of health and will follow all isolation procedures.”

Mrs. Bolsonaro’s test results come just five days after the president announced he had recovered from a Covid-19 infection, for which he tested positive on July 7. The First Lady took part in an official ceremony at the presidential palace on Wednesday, while wearing a facemask. Cabinet ministers Tereza Cristina (Agriculture) and Damares Alves (Human Rights) also attended the event.

Michelle Bolsonaro lives in the Alvorada Palace, in Brasília, with President Jair Bolsonaro and her two daughters.
