More than a decade of Chinese investments in Brazil

A steep fall during the pandemic was preceded by a decline in inflows from China in 2019. However, early signs are that Chinese investments in Brazil may be picking up again

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Brazil suffered a big drop in investments from one of its main sources: China. However, a new report by the Brazil-China Business Council (CEBC) released this week indicates that, even though Chinese investments in the country have significantly declined during the sanitary crisis, it is too early to say that the numbers will not go back up again, given the history of fluctuations in investment over the last 14 years.
