🇨🇴 The region: On Sunday, Colombia elected its first-ever leftist president, Gustavo Petro, by a tight margin over anti-establishment populist Rodolfo Hernández. The result contradicted most pollsters and bookmakers. In March, Latin America correspondent Ignacio Portes explained who Mr. Petro is and what he stands for.
