Among the myriad economic effects of the coronavirus crisis in Brazil has been the slashing of infrastructure investment. According to the annual Infra2038 report, by consultancy Pezco Economics, the country’s spending on infrastructure dropped from BRL 122.4 to 115.8 billion (USD 24.2 to 22.9 billion) between 2019 and last year.
