Brazilian engagement in Ukraine
Almost 11,000 kilometers from Ukraine, hundreds of Brazilians are trying to organize groups of volunteers to join the war effort against Russia. Brasília correspondent Amanda Audi immersed herself in multiple Telegram and Facebook groups where these individuals are trying to help each other organize a trip to Eastern Europe.
Why it matters. Anatoliy Tkach, the Ukrainian chargé d’affaires to Brazil, said on Thursday that the number of Brazilians seeking the country’s authorities for a chance to fight in the war has reached the hundreds.
