🚨 Breaking: Feds arrest Supreme Court hackers
The Federal Police arrested three people this morning allegedly involved in a May cyberattack on the Supreme Court’s servers. The systems of Brazil’s highest court remained offline for days, but technicians say no data was stolen. The suspects reside in the northeastern state of Pernambuco, but warrants are also being carried out in Goiás and São Paulo.
Brazilian government and judiciary systems have recently become targets for hackers. In November 2020, criminals managed to steal data from the Superior Court of Justice — Brazil’s second-highest judicial body — and targeted election databases.
Brazil using 5G to strengthen ties with Biden
The Jair Bolsonaro administration sent a delegation to Washington to get acquainted with an American model for a private government 5G network. The government sent its A-squad to meet with members of the U.S. Department of State, being represented by Communications Minister Fábio Faria (who has the president’s ear on political matters), and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (the president’s eldest son).
