Is Brazil loosening isolation too soon?
On Monday evening, as President Jair Bolsonaro got close to sacking Health Minister Luiz Henrique Mandetta, the department launched a plan for relaxing social isolation measures in states and cities where the healthcare system is not overburdened, starting on April 13. The decision, however, is up to local administrations. A day later, Brazil had its worst day in terms of new Covid-19 infections (1,661) and deaths (114).
