Back in February 2015, HSBC’s Swiss-based private banking unit was accused of helping thousands of crooked politicians, blood diamond dealers, and even terrorists to hide their money from authorities. Almost 60,000 files were leaked, offering insight on over 100,000 HSBC clients and their accounts. Among them were 660 Brazilians.

Three years after the scandal, known as “Swiss Leaks,” Brazilian Federal Police have concluded the first phase of their probe, and have decided to deepen the scrutiny on Brazilian nationals accused of hiding billions of dollars in secret accounts in Swiss banks.
