Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga arrived in São Paulo after spending two weeks quarantined in New York due to testing positive for Covid-19 on September 21, during his trip to the UN General Assembly.

Mr. Queiroga was the first of many cabinet members to test positive after the trip, a list which included the president’s son, Congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro.

Speaking to the press at Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo, the Health Minister said he would spend today “sleeping.” Regarding the Senate’s Covid Inquiry — currently investigating an alleged deal between the government and HMO Prevent Senior to encourage ineffective Covid-19 treatments — Mr. Queiroga said he is “at the disposal of Brazilian institutions and people.”
