São Paulo Mayor Ricardo Nunes announced this afternoon that citizens will be required to show a vaccine passport in order to enter commercial establishments as of August 30. Last week, the city announced it had vaccinated 100 percent of adults with at least one dose and kicked off the vaccination of teenagers.

The move comes after the first weekend without restrictions on non-essential businesses — which led to massive gatherings in bars and restaurants.
