As of March 24, Volkswagen Brazil will suspend its production lines in the states of São Paulo and Paraná for 12 days.

“With the rising number of coronavirus cases and the increase of ICU occupancy rates in Brazilian states, the company will adopt this measure to preserve the health of its employees and their family members. In the factories, only essential activities will continue,” said the German automaker, in a statement.

Employees in administrative duties will work remotely, according to an agreement with local trade unions.
