Courts suspend part of Rio’s quarantine decree

A state court in Rio de Janeiro ruled to extend the opening hours of bars and restaurants to 8 pm, instead of 5 pm. 

Mayor Eduardo Paes issued a decree on Thursday restricting non-essential business operations for a week and imposing a curfew starting on March 5. Bar and restaurant owners claimed the move would lead to a new wave of bankruptcies — as the bulk of their revenue comes at night.
