The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police has officially accused a nurse of embezzlement and health infractions after she was shown on video administering an empty dose of coronavirus vaccine to a 90-year-old man. The case occurred at a vaccination center in the city of Niterói, adjacent to Rio de Janeiro.
In her testimony, the nurse claimed she botched the vaccination because she was “feeling tired.” Besides Niterói, the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Petrópolis are also investigating similar cases of false jabs. On social media, people have requested increased supervision of immunization on senior citizens.
