Parks had previously been reopened in July, but with reduced hours and from Monday to Friday only. City administrators expanded opening hours in August, but the population complained that parks were still closed on weekends.

As of Saturday, parks will open and permit up to 60 percent of their maximum occupancy. Hand sanitizer will be available at all entrances, and visitors must use masks and have their temperature checked by park employees.
