São Paulo City Hall is set to announce today that in-person classes will be resumed for high school students as of November 3. The decision was taken after the results of the latest municipal serological census, which suggested that nearly one-quarter of the city’s population may have already contracted the coronavirus.

For students in daycare and of elementary school age, the local government will continue allowing extracurricular activities, which started on October 7.

City officials say all students and teachers of municipal schools will be tested for Covid-19 prior to their return to class.
