The average number of new daily coronavirus deaths in the city of São Paulo has decreased by 82 percent between August and September, according to newspaper O Estado de S.Paulo. A study shows that 79 out of the city’s 96 districts have seen a deceleration of death rates.
Furthermore, the report showed that three São Paulo neighborhoods recorded no deaths over the month-long span: Vila Leopoldina to the west, Marsilac in the extreme south, and the central district of Pari. Meanwhile, Cangaíba, São Lucas, and tourist hotspot Liberdade saw increased deaths of 72%, 67%, and 63%, respectively.
The city of São Paulo has 332,950 confirmed cases and 12,725 deaths as of the state government’s latest Covid-19 bulletin on September 30.
